It’s Official: The Plug Sports Connection is up and running

It’s finally official! The Plug Sports Connection is now up and running as of January 20th, 2020. While still in its infancy, the Plug Sports Connection is looking to be your “go-to” place for sports news by showcasing the talent and work of up-and-coming journalists. From video content and articles to photography and even social media, The Plug wants to make sure you’re connected.

They always say, “be the change you want to see in the world,” so that’s why this media company was created. The goal was to give newer journalists a chance to showcase their work and continue learning and building their brand. It’s to provide an opportunity to those who may have been otherwise overlooked for an opportunity strictly because they didn’t have a “flashy” enough resume or didn’t already have a connection to someone on the inside. Sometimes, those who are willing to work the hardest and go above and beyond are those who have been overlooked. This is their chance to shine.

At The Plug, we are looking to provide a solid and established platform to provide these journalists an opportunity to share their work and build a following. By doing so, it helps the journalist create an identity for themselves. It also helps the consumers become familiar with some new names in the journalism world.

We also are looking to be all encompassing and are open to whatever may be the future of sports journalism. Because of the broad spectrum of what we are looking to cover, we are currently searching for anyone who may be interested in writing, creating video content, doing social media stuff, hosting podcasts or vlogs and photographers who may be looking to showcase their work or host their content on this site. Since The Plug is just getting established, we are currently seeking potential businesses who would like to advertise on our platform. The funding from advertising will go towards helping pay our contributors for their work. The long-term goal is to be able to provide our contributors with a solid amount of pay, which is something that very frequently doesn’t happen anymore in the journalism world due to the consistently dwindling budgets and cutbacks.
